At the July 13 meeting, the City Council
authorized the firm of Beottcher and Company
to proceed with the sale of $7,000,000 in
Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, with which the City
will finance the major portion of the new
Municipal Complex.

Hello! Thornton Police Department is
still around doing business as such, even
though you haven't heard much from us for
awhile. We have expanded in personnel,
and a warm welcome goes out to the following new people: ROBERT GALLOWAY, hailing
from Los Angeles, who is Captain of Administration; three new cadets, LISA VAN LUE,
JAMES PERRY, and DANA PALMATEER; and
thirteen new officers, DAVID P. MACK, HURL
L. BEECHUM, PERRY J. ALFINGER, STEVEN D.
HORNER, MARK D. WARNER, GERRI FULKERSON,
JAMES H. DYER, DAVID R. GRUSSING, RYAN E.
PECK, BRIAN N. ADES, STEVEN V. LILLARD,
JOHN L. VERMILYE, and KENNETH CARSTENS.
We hope that they will all enjoy working
here and plan to stay with us for a long
time.
Ordinance Supervisor, GAIL GOLD, left
us on July 15. As much as we will miss
her, we wish her the very best in the new
job and experience she is undertaking in
Adelaide, Australia. She will be trainin
hearing dogs, and leaves for Austrailia in
November. Good Luck, Gail.
Officer GLENN MILLER was honored on
Friday, July 10, by fellow officers in
regards to a recent incident. The M.P.0.A.
Medal of Honor was presented to Officer
Miller by president, RANDY NELSON.
The week-end of July 11 and 12, the
M.P.O.A., along with the Westminster Police
Union, hosted a .two-=day party and hog
roast at Bob Martin's ranch. ·The outing
was a great success, and one is planned
for next year. Congratulations, also, to
the Thornton Thugs co-ed softball team-results of a nine-inning battle: Thornton
Thugs, 10, Westminster Wimps, 9.
One of our favorite employees, Louise
Vicory, has been off sick for awhile. We
miss her very much, and wish her a speedy
comeback.

The Ordinance Enforcement Division is
growing--in more ways than one! Congratulations to YVONNE DEMOSS MORRIS and
her husband, Max, on the birth of a son,
Logan Brett Morris, on July 22, at 2 a.m.
Logan Brett weighed in at 5 lb., 10 oz.,
and measured 18 1/2 inches long.
The other growth in the division is
only temporary. Summer helpers, MARY
SHEA, CARON GUILES, and RENEE SALAZAR, are
helping with the many complaints which are
turned in during the summer months. We'll
be sorry to see them go when they return
to school later in August.
