A pat on the back goes out to all of the firefighters who were up

The Thornton Firefighters received three television spots withi~
a three-hour period to promote the telethon.

IN THE "PINK"
Fleet Maintenance has recently acquired some new forms which will
enable us
to have better
communication
regarding
our city
vehicles.
P,s I have designated in the follcwing poem, the pink

copies or our repair order forms will go to each department.
The
information on this form s h ou Ld be a help to all departments.
Pat Reffel
Let me introduce myself with this funny little caper,
I1rn black and white and "read" all over, but certainly
not a newspaper.
I'm a brand new type of paper, with three new different
parts.
Someday, sometime, I'll be everywhere, even in your
hearts!

I have a pink sheet on the bottom, a yellow one in the
middle,
A white one on the top, that is anything but little.
Now when I'm all completed, I begin to shed my sheets,
A white on~ here, a yellow one there, and a pink one
almost everywhere.
I visit all departments.
I know I can't be beat.
Now listen care----fully, you must hang on to me,
Don't discard me or lose me, don1t lead me astray,
Tuck me neatly away, and I'll be there for a future
day.
The whole thing about this impertinent poop,
Is that I'm very important, WOW! What a scoop!
The info I carry is all up to par,
The matter of fact is, that I concern your car,
And your truck, and your wagon, and your shu-pak too,
So c1mon fellas, it's all up to you!
I'd like to stay close to you, as you are all my
friends1
So don't forget where I'm at, because for all you,
.I'll be there to make amends.
Thanks for reading about me,
I'm your new vehicle repair form from the Fleet
Maintenance Gepartmen t.

NEWS FROM W.ATEF~ AND SEWER UTILI"rIES
As you probably all know; ou r Utilities Department has acquired
two brand new vehicles. They are 1978 Ford trucks. One being a
Vac-Mas t.e r and the other a ;; ewe r-·J et by Aqua-Tech.
Our City can
be very proud of these new vehicles.
I know they will meet the
present needs of our City, and most important, the present
gro~1th. They will enable u;:; to do an even better. job.
Everyone at the Shops Complex would like to welcome Debbie Willet, who is our new Clerk II in Utilities.
Debbie is a Leo and
enjoys going bowling, dancing and watching football.
She has a
little girl na;-ned Cassi whc j_s only 17 months oldr and I might
add, is a real doll! We hope Debs will be happy here.
I'm sure
she will, as Debbie loves all the spices of life.
Scheffe). has recently come back from va c a t i on.
It is our
understanding that Doug came back with a lot of really super-nice
fish (rainbows to be ex a c t) . We hope he had a wonderful time!
{P.S. Doug--don't eat all those fish at once).

We all e~?ress o~r most 3incere and deepest sympathy to Vic May

Sooner or later, people, if they e r e w i s e , discover that bu s Ln e s s
life is a mixture of good days and badr victory and dGfeat, give
and t ake ,
They learn that ...
-it doesn't pay to be a sensitive soul--that they should let
some things go over their helds
-a person who loses his temper usually loses ..
-Everyone has burned toast for breakfast now and then, and
that they shouldn't take the other person's grouch too
seriously.
+ca rry i nq a chip on on e ' s shoulder is the easiest way to get
into 2 fight.
-it doesn't matter so much who gets the credit as long as the
bus\.ness shows a profit.
+bu ck+ p a s s i nq usually t ur r.s out to be a booma r anq,
·-it dc-e s n ' t do any h a rrn to smile and say "Good morning", even
if it is raining.
-a lot of other people are as ambitious as they are, tl1at
others have brains thac are as good or better, and that hard
work and not cleverness is the secret of success.
-most bosses are not monsters trying to get the last ounce of
work out of them for the least amouDt cf pay.
-the gang is not any harder to get along with in one place
than another, and that "getting- along" depends about 98 percent en their own behavior.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS "DISEASE11
Bronco-mania, or Bronco-fever is once again upon us.
The
football fans who have this no-cure disea~e may find it difficult
to shake off, as the symptoms are alrea9y beginning early in the
